[title size=”2″]Hi, Friends.[/title]
WELCOME! My name is Nicole Romero.

My goal is to provide a place where connections are made and ah-ha moments happen regularly. In time, those inspirations will inspire powerful, little changes that clear a way for more of what you want in life. It all starts with creativity.

Creativity is what 1,000 Strands is all about.

Ken Robinson says that Creativity is as important as Literacy.”

Steve Jobs says that Creativity is just connecting things.”

I say, Everything is connected.

And together we will find all sorts of new connections. We will improve our lives through our curiosity, passion, and perspective.

I believe in a Creator who makes everything and loves to surprise us. I believe our purpose is to get up every day and create, love, fight for justice, and do it again tomorrow. Love wins.

I am a speaker, pastor, and certified counselor at The Crossing Church in Southern California.

Official Bio:

Nicole Romero is passionate about real faith and real life. After graduating from USC film school she worked in Hollywood in her dream job alongside high-quality producers making feature films. As in all great stories, chaos ensued and she eventually found herself working in an unlikely place, a church. Now, with ten years experience, she is a teaching pastor at The Crossing Church in Costa Mesa where she serves daily as the Creative Arts Pastor. In addition, as a blogger and speaker across the country, Nicole spends time creating rich conversations around hard topics: like leadership, faith, doubt, relationships, and success.
Nicole is also really good at relaxing with her husband and two kids… and eating Nutella {preferably frozen, on a spoon}.

LOVE + MAKING IT

Now, here comes the most fun part. In 2013 I began a movement called “Love and Making It” and this little rebellion is the joy of my writing and teaching career.  So many of us, men and women, are ready for a new way to see our bodies and our sex lives. We are ready to enjoy our bodies as the good creations they are.

There’s a place to start finding healthy inspiration for great sex that combines the physical with the spiritual. Through the online courses, website, and live events people are joining the wholesome rebellion.

Find out more about LOVE + MAKING IT.

“As we learn to be brave and free in bed and out, our entire lives change. Everything is connected. Don’t give up on trust and commitment. Don’t give up on passion. Don’t give up on feeling attractive. Don’t ever give up on your body or your partner. There’s always more to try and learn. There’s a lot of space here for whatever you need. Let’s keep going.    -Nicolette”

A little personal information

I’m married to my absolute soul mate and we work darn hard at it. I am a mom to two little girls who suck me dry only to fill me up again with something sweeter. I believe in a Heaven that’s closer than my breath and probably exists in one of those dimensions Brian Greene is talking about (but he would hate that I said that).

I have a swiss-cheese memory. I hold my opinions with open palms. My goal here is to open up my own mind and anyone who wants to come with me to a life + world that is spiritual, surprising, passionate, and fun… And to make every moment count for my own sake and for others.

Quotes to get us rolling:

…what we must do now is share everything. Everything! If one of us likes anything, there must be something to like in it – and the other one must find it. Every single thing that either of us likes. That way we shall create a thousand strands, great and small, that will link us together. And our trust in each other will not only be based on love and loyalty but on the fact of a thousand sharings – a thousand strands twisted into something unbreakable. – Sheldon Vanauken

Think again about your strategy of life in view of your opportunity to live in the in Kingdom of the Heavens now + forever. –Matthew 4:17    (Dallas Willard’s translation)

I want to do to you what spring does to the cherry trees. – Pablo Neruda

**********

I hope you find inspiration, fun and meaning here.  I hope, in this little blog, will be words that call out to you… words that hook a thread into your spirit and back through mine – like stitches on a torn seam. Stitches, that when this blog is miles long, mend something in you and me.

-Nicolette
